Vancouver Engagement Photography in Kitsilano
Kitsilano is one of my favourite parts of Vancouver. Kelly and Robert live in the heart of it, so it made sense to do some shooting around their neighbourhood. We met at their apartment and took to the streets with Kitsilano Beach as our final destination. We kept stopping whenever we saw something photo worthy, which was basically every 2 minutes because Kits is adorable and spring was in full swing so we were lucky to have cherry blossoms and other beautiful blooms as backdrops. These two were great sports when it came to my weird ideas of running through the streets or holding up a piece of lace fabric to create interesting shadows on their faces. Sometimes the things I make people do in public are questionable.. but it’s all in the name of art!
I don’t get down to Kitsilano Beach very often but this shoot reminded me that I should. As soon as we arrived I got all giddy at the sight of the breathtaking views. It was one of the first sunny days we had in Vancouver this year and I actually get pretty nervous to shoot in full sunlight (it is so not my forte..) but I love a challenge and I am just ecstatic about how these images turned out. Sorry to K and R for making you stare directly into the sun for some shots; you are troopers! It still boggles my mind that I live in a metropolitan city surrounded by beautiful mountain and ocean views like that. Talk about photographer’s dream location!
These two are so cute together and easy to direct, which made my job breezy! Can’t wait to shoot with them again in July during their wedding on the island.
Very good article! Great set of images!
